Very interesting Corps history led to adoption of this sword with all steel hilt and royal cypher replaced by the strung bugle in the hilt cartouche. This sword was clearly well used and paraded often. The grip covering is worn away in places although the wire wrap is still intact and leather sword knot attached. The blade etching is visible but worn from repeated cleaning of the blade. Blade maker is Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Company of Solingen, Germany. No nicks but some minor staining due to age. Comes with steel scabbard in very good condition, also leather covered scabbard that shows wear depicted in photos. Bonus accessory is an original leather sword hanging belt in very good condition, not marked. A superb set and wonderful example.
