Japanese Shin Gunto

Sword was examined by a specialist in Japanese cultural artifacts and the following information supplied: Manufactured by Japanese swordsmith Kanehisa about 1943. He was born in 1915 and died 1945, possibly in a war related bombing raid. Sword blade may be 2 piece construction or 3 piece with soft core and harder laminated outer pieces. Main blade temper line visible. Inscription on tang reads Mino (province), Seki stamp for arsenal, Gakiham maker stamp of Kanehisa. Very good plus original condition. I have never had this sword apart but a copy of the tang inscriptions came with it. Scabbard is wood with black enamel and flecks missing along upper and lower edge of scabbard with one large chip of enamel missing near the tip. All correct and very good example of WWII junior military officer’s sword.
