Marked B. & J.S. L. on leaf spring for B. & J. Sippel Ltd, one of the makers of this bayonet. Another mark on body of muzzle ring but not legible. Used only on the Sten Mk II, only a very few were issued and most scrapped post war making this a very uncommon bayonet. Refernce":Skennerton - British & Commonwealth Bayonets, Page 226.. A small number of copies of this bayonet were made during the 1980's and sold in Europe. Some have made their way to North America. Very few people have experience with this bayonet so definitive information is hard to come by. May be a copy which itself is uncommon. Comes in Mk 1 steel scabbard.
