German WWII Red Cross Hewer

Issued for daily practical wear by NCO rank and below in the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK), German Red Cross. Heavy blade has sawback for cutting and removal of casts and preparation of wooden splints. Point is squared off to conform to Geneva Convention rules that medical personnel not carry offensive weapons. Blade in VG + condition with leather pad. Very good original condition overall with Red Cross emblem. Scabbard shows wear but retains much black enamel paint.
