Original US Civil War era percussion carbine with saddle ring for cavalry use and no sling swivels (Model 1863 configuration). Breech loading .50 cal. percussion fired. Serial number 6578, no maker markings on receiver or barrel. Bore is in very good condition, bright with some patches of corrosion and lots of rifling remaining. Stock has been lightly cleaned and no markings remain. Crack along top of wrist is tight. Antique rifle, no licence required to purchase.
