Ross Pattern 1908 (Mark I) bayonet Regimentally marked
CA$595.00
One of 20,000 Ross Rifle bayonets purchased by the USA in 1917 upon entry into the Great War. US marked with flaming bomb and US on right wooden grip plate. Previously issued to 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s), 5th Troop, marked and dated 4/12 on the left grip plate. Scabbard US marked with flaming bomb. This is the Mark 1 Ross bayonet made to fit the 1905 Ross rifle and retains its original blade shape. Scabbard and bayonet are well used and appear to have been together for a long time. Very interesting artifact and example of the unique Ross rifle bayonet.
