Pattern 1888 bayonet with Oliver pattern leather frog
US M8A1 scabbard damaged
Imperial German S14 bayonet
CA$595.00
Early German WW1 bayonet pressed into use as an “Interim Bayonet” due to shortage of rifles and bayonets at the start of the war. Numerous small shops made these. This specimen is made by BK, Bekka-Record of Berlin, an uncommon maker. Spine of blade has proof mark. One wooden grip is cracked but sound. Steel scabbard appears to be ersatz. Leather frog has bayonet keeper strap which is not totally correct for WW1 bayonet but they appear to have been together for a long time.
