Canadian Ross Mk I bayonet for the M1905 (Mk II) rifle. 8-10 manufacture date with C broad arrow pommel marking. Top of pommel regimentally numbered 57/517 and dated 8/14. One of 20,000 Ross Rifle bayonets purchased by the USA in 1917 upon entry into the Great War. US and flaming bomb marks on right wooden grip plate. Retains original blade shape. Quillon is bent slightly forward. Scabbard has flaming bomb and US marking visible in two places, on belt loop and scabbard. Very interesting artifact and example of the unique Ross rifle bayonet.
