During WWII Germany modified captured bayonets for issue to police or occupation forces. This bayonet is modified from the French Model 1886/15 without quillon and with simplified catch. Blade length is 342mm (13 1/2 inch), overall 460mm. Brass handle, cruciform blade with very pointed blade tip, shortened scabbard with leather hanging strap attached. Very loose fit of bayonet in scabbard. Bayonet is serial numbered as shown in photo.
