Percussion Carriage Pistol 19th Century Staudenmayer London
CA$1,995.00
Very well made with fine craftsmanship circa early 19th Century. Engraved lock, hammer, trigger guard and other metal fittings including an ornate pineapple motif forward of the trigger guard. One piece wooden stock has finely checkered grip with silver disk inlaid but never engraved. Lock marked Staudenmayer London as is an impressed stamp on the top of the barrel. Original condition percussion lock with safety as if it were a dueling pistol. Safety does not move as it is fouled with powder residue and would require some restoration if desired. Screw heads are in excellent condition and looks like the pistol has never been apart. Octagon barrel 7/8 inch diameter, bore .50 inch smoothbore. Overall length 16 inches. Barrel is 10 inches. Action functions crisply with a hair trigger. Missing ramrod. Antique firearm, no licence required to purchase or own.
