Ballard’s Sporting Carbine circa 1860’s

Single shot .44 cal. rimfire. With 28 inch octagonal barrel. Left side of receiver marked Ballard’s Nov. 5, 1861 . No maker or distributor markings visible on right receiver or barrel flats. Top of barrel marked No. 44 presumably for the caliber and matching serial numbers 16679. Weight 7.4lb. Bore shows some rifling with corrosion evident. Action works including manual sliding ejector. Overall very good cleaned condition. Antique, no licence required to purchase or own.
