Early Swiss bayonet used on the Schmidt Rubin 1886 and 1896 rifle as well as the M1911 rifle. This specimen has a 15mm diameter muzzle ring so it fits the rifles but not the M1911 carbine. Blade has distinctive ridge at the bottom of the fuller designed to help retain the scabbard. Interesting specimen made by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, issued and used condition. Very good overall with leather belt frog strap.
