Amberg 1891 manufacture M1888 Commission rifle, converted to 88/05 charger loading and chamber modified for the new Gew 1898 “S” bullet. Supplied to Turkey in WWI to help solve their shortage of small arms late in the war. Receiver has crescent moon over crown, rear sight ladder has Arabic numerals and there is Turkish numbering on the bolt with crescent on bolt know. Bore is very good, dark with strong rifling. Metalwork is good condition, worn finish with little blue remaining. Stock has been cleaned up and is in very good condition with no markings visible.
