US Model 1917 bayonet Winchester Eagle head reversed.

US Model 1917 bayonet for the US Model 1917 Enfield rifle. Manufactured by Winchester clearly marked W in circle dated 1917. Right side has flaming bomb over US, eagle head, bend mark. The eagle’s head is reversed in direction which is suspected to be a manufacturing error by Winchester and relatively rare. The Model 1917 bayonet fit both the US M17 Enfield rifle (30-06) and the British P14 rifle (303 British). This bayonet has belt loops ground off the scabbard and was carried on the belt in a web or leather frog for home front use. Scabbard has green finish leather stamped Jewel 1918. Bayonet and scabbard in VG+ original condition.
