Indian made sword bayonet for SMLE No. 1 Mk III rifle. Ricasso clearly marked British Crown over GRI, Mk II (no stars) and dated November 1944 (11-44). RFI marked for Rifle Factory Ishapore. Unfullered 12 inch blade is bright for most of its length, some bluing at ricasso area, very good condition, unsharpened with false edge – which actually makes it a No. 1 mk II* that is incorrectly marked. Inspectors marks on opposite ricasso. No scabbard.
