Wood handle is British, maker marked with broad arrow and 1945 date. Handle has mounting rod for No. 4 Mk II spike bayonet to be used as a mine probe. Spade is British maker marked with broad arrow and 1944 date. Also ink stamped MADE IN ENGLAND. Carrier is Canadian, Hugh Carson maker and dated 1944 with C broad arrow.
