Early leather scabbard 16 7/8 inches overall length for a blade length of approximately 16 inches. Takes triangular bayonet blade 1 1/8 inches wide at throat. Brown Bess bayonet fits tightly but does not seat the entire length as the scabbard has shrunk with age but still very stiff, not floppy. Stitching separating as shown in photo.
