Long bladed 2nd pattern Sappers and Miners socket bayonet used on the P1851 Sappers and Miners carbine, .733 inch calibre. British design but not marked so likely East India company production for Indian military use. Blade length 22 7/8 inch with 8 inches from tip of blade ground to a double edge. Socket length 4 3/16 inchs, overall 27 1/6 inch. Muzzle ring is 22 -24mm. Original condition. No scabbard.
