Lock marked to Scottish gunmaker Alex R. Thomson. Octogonal barrel length 32 inches with British proof marks as shown in photo. Overall length 48 inches. There is a dovetail where a rear sight may have been but no sight is present. Bore .62 inch smoothbore shows some surface corrosion with bright areas. Lock works well. Very ornate scrollwork on metal parts. Stock in very good original condition. Ramrod is old and very likely original. One steel ramrod ring is broken off the underside of the barrel and is included separately. Antique rifle, no licence required to purchase or own.
