British No. 85 fuze

British forces in World War One used this fuze on 18 pounder shrapnel shells. It was manufactured in the USA prior to US entry into WW1 to help with shortage of supply of British manufactured No. 80 series percussion fuzes. US maker marked A.F.Co. No. 85. Battlefield pickup damaged in use and not likely to screw onto a projectile.
