Very well made bronze signal cannon as used on British naval ships to fire blank charge to announce approach to harbour, never to fire ball ammunition. Appears to be George III cypher on top of barrel, well polished. Numerous proofs on wooden mounting components including Board of Ordnance mark. Barrel is 25 inches long, 59lb (27kg). Mount is 26lb (12kg). Bore 1.5 inches. Overall assembled size 28 inches long x 17 wide x 12 high.
