Very interesting piece of German WW1 trench art. A peak cap made from a fired brass 7.7cm casing. Case head is clearly make marked Patronenfabrik Karlsrue and dated November 1897. Design features Pickelhaube chinstrap post at front, 2 small tunic buttons each side with a twisted wire running across the front.
