US Civil Defense Helmet (White OCD marked)

Issued by the US federal government Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) to air raid wardens and other civil defense personnel during World War Two from 1941 US entry into the war until 1945. Original condition with grey cotton web suspension and leather sweat band but the leather is mostly deteriorated. Maker mark Mc is likely McCord. There is a red stencil 69 in a rectangle on the top of the helmet, meaning unknown.
