Austrian M17 WW1 helmet reissued to German Wehrmacht troops after the annexation of Austria in 1938 (The Anschluss). Has German liner and chinstrap. Chinstrap is marked as shown in photo and dated 1941. Somehow made its way to Norway late war or post war and reissued to Norwegian troops. Norwegian Army decal on each side of helmet. The Norwegians applied treatment to the leather liner and chinstrap causing characteristic darkening of the leather. Complete and very good condition with fascinating history.
