Austrian Gendarmerie M35 steel helmet

Original German M35 helmet re-issued post WW2 for Austrian Gendarmerie use in late 1940’s. The original German paint is completely painted over in a light gray paint inside and out. No Gendarmerie Flaming Bomb insignia has been attached, no evidence of holes in shell where insignia would have been fastened. Original German M31 liner has Austrian marking stenciled on in ink Landesgendarmeriekommando fur Tirol, suspension string replaced with a lace. Leather chinstrap is Austrian. Shell size 064 with number visible at rear 1142. Interesting collectable or candidate for restoration to German WW2 configuration.
