Mills Bomb No. 5 grenade relic

This item is a battlefield pickup of the type sold by locals in France or Belgium who scour the battlefields for relics to sell to visitors. To their credit, the items are thoroughly cleaned then coated with a thin film of varnish to stop the rusting. All components are present although the pin and ring look to be made up from other artifacts found on the battlefield. Very interesting item.
