Manufactured by Friedrich A. Herder und Sohn, Solingen (ffc code) and dated 1944 (44). Scabbard is not matching, marked 42asw for E. &F. Horster. Overall this bayonet is fair - good condition and has been WWII issued and used showing expected wear and tear. Blade has oxidation staining with 2 nicks in the edge and a blunted tip. Grip panels are wood in very good condition with one crack near grip screw as shown. Overall oxidation on pommel consistent with condition of bayonet. Scabbard has black paint finish with 2 small dents in back as shown.
