German Model 1917 stick hand grenade

Model 1917 Stielhandgranate (stick hand grenade) is a German World War One. This is an original example in very good condition, empty and completely inert. Some original paint remains on canister with black ink stenciling still visible as shown in photo. Belt clip is present. Canister was removed and emptied then refastened to the wooden handle using small period nails so it cannot be unscrewed. The markings on the wood handle are present but only barely visible. The date of 1918 (/18) is clear and matches the date on the canister stencil. Star shaped cap screws on/off well and original ceramic ball with string and small ceramic ball at fuze end is present.
