German Model 1924 stick grenade

Original iconic World War II Model 1924 or M24 stick grenade (Stielhandgranate) nicknamed Potato Masher. Wood handle has been lightly cleaned and restored. Canister well marked, date stamped Sept 1940 including Waffenamt WaA65 visible on top. Handle marked RR 517 1940 where RR is maker Richard Rinker G.m.b.H. and 517 is factory identification. Date of manufacture 1940 and Waffenamt unclear. The RR code is the “normal” Richard Rinker code that was later changed with the first R stenciled backwards to confuse the Allies. Screw cap unscrews showing some corrosion and small holes. No ceramic ball or string. Canister unscrews to show empty and inert. No fuze.
