British manufacture by Wilkinson and supplied to Canada for use on the Martini Metford rifle. Reportedly only 1,000 made and withdrawn from service almost as soon as they were issued since the Martini rifle was replaced by the Lee Metford/Enfield bolt action arm. Blade condition is poor with pitting throughout. Wilkinson name visible as is date ’94, WD, bend test mark and Enfield 3 line proof. A marking on the crossguard shows R.R.C.. As these were only issued to the Royal Regiment of Canada this is interesting. No scabbard.
