Original early and uncommon leather Brown Bess scabbard with seam on the flat side of the bayonet and scabbard. Overall length 17 ¾ inches. Appears to be modified from another pattern scabbard by removing the frog stud and filling the hole as shown in photo, then adding brass locket with frog stud. Good overall condition. Leather intact but brittle and we can’t recommend trying to insert a bayonet blade into this scabbard. Would be good for display alongside the bayonet though.
