The Mk II helmet was developed for the British Army in 1944 and first worn by British and Canadian troops on D-Day. Original canvas chinstrap is marked but not legible and is riveted high on the helmet shell. Original textured paint, no markings visible on helmet shell. Liner marked 7 (size 7), “N” Ltd., II, dated 1943. Liner is held in place by rivet at top of shell. Comes with monotone colour knotted net with scrim.
