Martini Henry 1853/72 bayonet

Pattern 1853 bayonet bushed for use with the Martini Henry rifle. Very good condition. Ricasso marked with E for Enfield over crown and inspector mark that is overstamped with 10/73 date for socket conversion to Martini muzzle diameter. These early socket bayonets were used on the Mk 4 rifles and would most certainly have been in use in Africa during the Anglo-Zulu war. No scabbard but takes a P1853 scabbard.
