Very uncommon and unique bayonet for Krag Jorgensen 1889 rifle. Officially called the Knivbajonet m/1889 second model. The first model has black leather grips and this model wooden grips but are otherwise identical. Marked HVV Kobnhavn for the state arsenal of Copenhagen and Crown over 02 for year of manufacture 1902. Pommel is marked with serial number 54161 of the rifle it was issued with and also has Danish regimental markings, one set crossed out when the rifle and bayonet were reissued. Unique triangular shaped press catch at the rear of the pommel to mount the bayonet to the rifle. Very long mortise slot provides support in absence of a muzzle ring. Steel mounted leather scabbard is in good condition and attaches to the crossguard with a mounting stud, not numbered.
