British manufactured blade dated December 1910 (12 ’10) made at RSAF Enfield (EFD). British proofs. Supplied on contract to Queensland Police with pommel stamped Q broad arrow P and the number 624. When issued this bayonet would have a scabbard and belt frog all similarly marked and matching numbered to fit a Queensland Police SMLE rifle. It appears to be pressed into WW2 use being fitted with a Mangrovite 42 large button scabbard with parkerized metal fittings. Pommel and crossguard with hooked quillon are parkerized with an out of service stamp applied after the Parkerizing. The blade was refurbished for WW2 use and now bears and odd finish appearance as shown in the photos. The hooked quillon survived the refurbishment.
