Remington 1917 manufacture and has Canadian broad arrow acceptance markings on the pommel and faint serial number applied by Canada on crossguard. Blade is sharpened. Canada purchased a number of P17 rifles in early World War II (100,000). They were mostly used for guard duty on the home front, specifically for POW guards but also were used by the RCAF. Very good condition with light wear. Scabbard has US belt hanger ground off and is carried on the belt using a web slide-on frog. Green colour leather.
