Commercial manufacture by Eickhorn for sale to Haiti when Jean-Claude :Baby Doc” Duvalier was leader circa 1985-86. The bayonet was intended to fit M1 Garand rifles supplied to Haiti by the USA. Very researchable. High quality production, plum coloured blade with Haitian serial number 05382-S. Grips held in place by Phillips screws and pommel is one piece not peened on. Scabbard marked US M8A1 MADE IN GERMANY. Interesting variant.
