In 1943, the U.S. Army shortened the M1905 bayonet to 10 inches blade length (25.4 cm). Model 1905 bayonets were recalled, blades cut down and reissued. These shortened M1905 bayonets were re-designated as M1905E1, also simply called the M1 bayonet. This specimen manufactured by UFH (Union Fork and Hoe) dated 1942, beak point blade. It was shortened by AFH (American Fork and Hoe) who marked it on the tang. Original WWII condition with scabbard.
