Indian made sword bayonet for SMLE No. 1 Mk III rifle. Ricasso clearly marked British Crown over GRI, Mk II (no stars) and dated November 1944 (11-44). RFI marked for Rifle Factory Ishapore. Unfullered 12 inch blade is blued, very good condition, unsharpened with false edge - which actually makes it a No. 1 Mk II* that is incorrectly marked. Inspectors marks on opposite ricasso. Comes in shortened Pattern 1907 scabbard with round frog stud.
