Ross Rifle bayonet Royal Navy Contract

The British Royal Navy contract Ross bayonet has the ricasso marked with British broad arrow and Enfield 3 line inspectors mark (crown over inspector’s number over E). Ross Rifle Company Mark 1 bayonet for the 1905 Ross service rifle and has spring inside muzzle ring. The blade shape is indicative of the Navy Contract blades and is different from the original Ross bayonet blade shape. Information on this uncommon variant Ross bayonet is scarce and not entirely clear but one reference is British Secondary Small Arms by A.Edwards.
