Snider Enfield Mk II ** Short Rifle

Crown over VR, 1861 Enfield. Clear Enfield cartouche on butt. 30 ¾ inch barrel. Steel butt plate numbered on tang. Steel trigger guard barrel bands with bayonet stud on right side of barrel. Bore is in very good condition, bright with lots of rifling but there is a bulge in the barrel near the muzzle. The rifle cannot be fired safely since the bulge has weakened the barrel at that location, as well as accuracy will be diminished even with reduced loads. Strictly a display example. No cleaning rod.
