Martini Henry Mk III rifle manufactured in 1883 at RSAF Enfield. Nicely marked on receiver. War Department markings throughout as well as the usual proof on the left side of barrel and knox form. Right side of butt stock has clear cartouche with the number 37 stamped beside. Left side of butt stock has DC for Dominion of Canada and the numbers 63 over 7 as regimental marking. Overall condition is original, very good plus with cleaning rod and bore condition VG+, bright with strong rifling. Superb example of a 19th Century Canadian military issued rifle during a quickly changing time for firearms design.
