Martini Henry Mk III Rifle

British Pattern 1839 Percussion musket

CA$2,995.00
The Pattern 1839 Musket was the first percussion infantry long arm to be widely issued by the British military and was in reality an updated Brown Bess India Pattern. Overall length 55 inches, barrel is 39 inches, .75 inch calibre (smoothbore). Lovell pattern bayonet catch is broken off. Still has original ramrod. Lock is Crown over VR, TOWER manufacture, not dated. British proofs faintly visible on barrel. There appears to have been a proof stamping on the butt that is only faintly visible. Bore is Good to Very Good, some shine, no corrosion visible but dark film like it needs a good cleaning. Complete, very weel used example of this uncommon percussion musket. Antique, no licence required to purchase or own.
