Original US made 1917 model SBR (Small Box Respirator) designed in 1917 and produced only during 1918. Very unique AEF artifact reminds historians of the intense use of gas until the end of the Great War. Gas mask in canvas carrier with instruction booklet and repair kit. The gas mask is extremely fragile and rubberized fabric is flaking. Exhale flap is present but disconnected from mask. A very interesting US WWI item.
