Original US M1 WW2 helmet, early fixed bale with seam at front. Original paint and finish. Liner is WW2 with vent hole at front, shows fraying to suspension in spots. Original canvas chinstrap in very good condition. No leather liner chinstrap present. Liner is maker marked with MSA logo (Mine Safety Appliance Company), a WWII maker. Shell and liner in equivalent condition indicating that they have been together for a long time. This is a very good example of the US early WW2 helmet and getting harder to find.
