The bolo blade design knife was used as a camp tool by Artillery and Medical Corps personnel in World War One to chop and clear brush.  US Model 1917 C.T. (Commercial Tolerances) version made by A. C. Co. (American Cutlery Company of Chicago, Illinois) 1918. Scabbard leather tip is maker marked Fred Medart Mfg. Co 1918. Original, shows wear and tear from field use including crack in wooden grip and crack in metal crossguard as shown in photo.
