Description

The Springfield rifled musket was the primary US arm at the start of the Civil War. .58 cal. Minne ball muzzle loading rifled musket. Lock marked US and subcontractor name Norwich (Norwich Arms Co., Norwich, Connecticut) with US, Eagle and date 1863. This musket has been deactivated with welds to the nipple, top of barrel at tang and the muzzle is welded over.
