Lock marked Crown over VR, 1859 Enfield. Top of breech II**, SNIDER PATENT and LSA Company marking that looks like an overstamping of LSA and C. LSA converted the Pattern 1853 rifle to Snider rifle. Barrel has numerous proofs with broad arrow WD. Enfield stock cartouche is still visible with sold out of service mark above and DC in diamond on opposite side. Brass butt tang marked D over 66. Cleaning rod is correct early style. Bore is VG+, bright with strong rifling. Antique firearm, no license required to purchase or own.
