Victorian era Scottish officer’s dirk marked to the 71st Highlanders light infantry regiment. Estimated pre 1880, likely mid 19th Century. Blade length 11 ¾ inches, overall 17 inches. Blade is double fullered with faceted back edge and extensively etched with battle honours and designs including 71st. Marked Hawkes & Co., London, Manufacturers to the Queen. Complete with knife and fork. Ornately carved wood grip in very good condition. Leather scabbard also very good with ornate brass mounts. Dirk, knife and fork all have pale amber stones in very good condition. Blade is GOOD only with corrosion from improper storage. Unfortunate but the price reflects the blade condition.
