British made, completely refurbished in India. Original marking on right side of butt socket have been removed and left side stamped No.1 Mk III* over FR 44, where FR is an Indian factory marking and 44 is the date 1944. Also stamped ENGLAND on butt socket as this rifle was exported through England and has proof house markings on chamber. Indian stores mark on butt stock S, broad arrow, A, 1 in a circle. Matching serial numbers on receiver, barrel, bolt, bayonet stud and magazine. Bore is VG+. Very nice example complete with web sling, steel fittings.
